Lunch, Day Forty-Nine

  • 1 whole wheat pita, 1/4 cup tomato sauce, 1 cup fresh broccoli, 2 oz skim milk mozzarella cheese, garlic powder & oregano
  • 1 banana

I modified my beloved pizza recipe because I'd run out of spinach and thought some broccoli would be nice. Because I put it under the cheese, it didn't get all soft and mushy like I'd wanted, though the crunchiness did provide an interesting compliment to the rest of the pizza, suiting the crispness of the pita crust.

It's so weird but I'm finding myself craving actually healthy things - whereas I used to lust after sausage and pepperoni pizzas (or both, with some mushrooms & green peppers... or all of the above, plus ham and pineapple and onion and something else to make a ridiculous Domino's combination), now I think things like "man broccoli on pizza is really good!" Very interesting...

I went a wee bit over the top with the spices, so even though I brushed my teeth before my afternoon class (and chewed gum through it), I was worried that I'd have garlicky breath. Ah well. Small price for deliciosity.
